Marathon

🚶‍♂️ Walking with Purpose. Leading with Energy.

As someone who enjoys running too, I’ve come to appreciate one underrated form of fitness that almost anyone can embrace – brisk walking.

I’ve always believed in walking with intent. Not just for physical fitness, but to build the clarity, calmness, and consistency I need in my corporate life.
Whether it’s powering through long workdays, staying focused during client presentations, or making better decisions under pressure – a brisk 30-minute walk often clears the fog and recharges my mind and body.

Today, I’m proud to have completed the 5KM Walkathon 2025, a powerful event that brought people together to celebrate health, strength, and community.

To me, it wasn’t just a walk. It was a reminder that consistency matters more than intensity, and that leadership begins with self-discipline.

Let’s remember…you don’t have to run to stay ahead.

Just walk…and walk briskly. That’s enough to move mountains, in life and at work. 💪✨

My first half marathon.

I started jogging only in the middle of August last year. Not even one full year ago. And I began in my late forties.

I had no coach, no mentor and no professionally designed training programme. I simply kept running, gradually increased the distance, understood what my body could handle and remained clear about one objective: completing 21.1 kilometres.

Perhaps this is how I approach most things in life. Whether I am teaching, managing a programme, improving a process, conducting a heritage walk or delivering a historical lecture, I rarely begin with a ready-made formula. I understand the objective, find a route that works for me and stay with it until the work is completed.

An unconventional route does not mean an effortless route. The months of running, the difficult mornings, the tired legs and the decision to continue were all part of the preparation.

Completing my first half marathon gave me more than a medal. Running clears the mind, improves concentration and quietly builds self-belief.

Sometimes, it is not necessary to follow every path already marked by the world. But it is necessary to have clarity, endurance and the discipline to finish the path we choose.

21.1 kilometres completed. A personal milestone completed.
